jorgonq On my second listen through and my thought is this: My favorite track was the first until I heard the second. Then my favorite track was the second, but only until I heard the third. Repeat ad nauseam. The mandolin was unexpected but more important than I thought possible for a black metal song. Favorite track: One with the Grey Spirit.

Josh Gregory I dig the strings. Solid 2016 release. Favorite track: Erlik-Khan.

Simón González Luengo This album rose up higher than my expectations. Beautiful in every sense, within every layer of sound there is a tight execution.

Darkestrah makes it once again, bringing the mystic landscapes of Turan to every corner. Favorite track: Erlik-Khan.

H.L. DARKESTRAH are one of my favourite pagan black metal bands, so I was really looking forward to the new album "Turan". The band plays a quite unique style with folkloristic elements and atmospheric strings. Some parts appear even shamanistic and although the overall set up of the epic hymns is very melodic, they keep a rough edge. If you listen to hordes like Drudkh or Negura Bunget, DARKESTRAH might be a highly recommendable act for you! Favorite track: Bird of Prey.

NorthwoodsBrewer502 this is absolutely amazing. It reminds me of the direction the band took for the khagan EP but with some of the more drudkh-esque moments of the prior records. crushing.
